- The new all-digital IGBT boasts high heating efficiency, a high power factor (above 0.95), and energy savings of 10-20%.
Employing new German Infineon module technology, this solution boosts coil voltage, reduces line losses, delivers constant power output, and improves the power factor, thereby achieving energy savings. It saves 10-20% more energy compared to conventional parallel equipment.
Comparison between Thyristor Devices and All-Digital IGBT Devices:Project Thyristor equipment New IGBT device Electrical efficiency Low High Power consumption (kW·h/T) 400-450 degrees/T 360-380 degrees/T Power factor 0.7–0.92 Above 0.95 Device startup success rate Moderate (90%) Easy (100%) Heating sensor adaptation range Diameter difference: 10–15 mm Diameter difference: 20–30 mm Current fluctuations during the feeding process High Low Transformer utilization rate Low High Ease of maintenance Simple Simple Maintenance cost Low Low Equipment cost Low Moderate Taking the customer’s selection of a 400-kW induction heating furnace (heating temperature: 1,200℃) as an example: For parallel-connected equipment, the power consumption is calculated based on the highest efficiency at 400 kWh/ton; for series-connected equipment, the power consumption is 360 kWh/ton. The actual difference in power consumption between the two types of equipment is 40 kWh/ton. Assuming one unit operates 8 hours per day and the month is calculated as 28 days, the daily power savings amount to 40 kWh/h × 8 hours = 320 kWh. At an electricity price of 1 yuan per kWh, the annual cost savings would be: 320 kWh × 28 days × 12 months × 1 yuan/kWh = 107,520 yuan! This means the company can save approximately 100,000 yuan each year!
